Description:
Green grass jelly (Premna oblongifolia Merr.) is abundant in Indonesia and is a traditional Indonesian
food. Moreover, this plant is rich in fiber and antioxidant properties. The research aims to determine
the influence of ethanol extract from green grass jelly leaves on gastric ulcer healing and the optimal
composition of mucoadhesive granules. The Wistar rats were grouped into negative control, positive
control, and three test dose groups. Treatment was administered for three days, and peptic ulcers were
scored based on the quantity and severity of the lesions. Statistical comparisons between treatment
groups were conducted using a one-way ANOVA test. The results showed that the third dose group
exhibited the best activity in healing gastric ulcers compared to the negative control group, with wound
healing percentages of 12.13% (p 0.024), 20.93% (p 0.004), and 24.47% (p 0.000) for test 1, test 2, and
test 3, respectively. Therefore, it can be concluded that the ethanol extract of green grass jelly leaves
at test dose 3 is chosen as the optimal dose for peptic ulcer treatment. Moreover, the best formulation
is found in Formula 3.
