Description:
Galanga Rhizome (Kaempferia galanga L) contains alkaloids, flavonoids, saponins and steroids which
have the potential to stimulate the hormone oxytocin which has the function of stimulating prolactin.
The habit of consuming is often found in pregnant women, post partum mothers and breastfeeding
mothers. Consuming it in herbal preparations for breastfeeding mothers can relieve problems during
breastfeeding such as pain, swelling of the mammary glands and poor breast milk. Galanga Rhizome
has been used empirically to create a feeling of calm, warmth and freshness in the body of mothers
who are breastfeeding so that it can stabilize the mother's psychological condition. This study aims
to determine and determine the best histology of the mammary glands in mice given ethanol extract
of Galanga Rhizome. The test was carried out on female mice in five repetitions with three test
treatment groups, positive control and negative control. The results of the study showed that the three
test treatment groups showed a significant relationship with improving the histology of the mammary
glands with the parameters of mammary gland weight, number of lobes and area of alveoli. The 40
mg/KgBW dose group was the best which gave significantly better results than the other two groups
